Simple cubic

Définition

Une explication du sens précis de ce concept
  • 1. Start by taking four atoms and arranging them in a square. Then take four more atoms and arrange them in a square. Then put the first square on the second square to form a cube with eight atoms, one at each corner. This structure is the simple cubic crystal structure. (https://www.e-education.psu.edu/matse81/node/2131). 2. imple Cubic unit cells indicate when lattice points are only at the corners. They are the simplest (hence the title) repetitive unit cell. The lattice points at the corners make it easier for metals, ions, or molecules to be found within the crystalline structure. This phenomena is rare due to the low packing of density, but the closed packed directions give the cube shape.
