  • Multicomponent material comprising multiple, different (non-gaseous) phase domains in which at least one type of phase domain is a continuous phase. Note: A foamed substance, which is a multiphase material that consists of a gas dispersed in a liquid or solid, is not normally considered to be a composite. Source: PAC, 2007, 79, 1801.
