Correlative Characterization

Definition

  • Set of actions carried out by one or more Research Users, possibly using Research Software, with the intent of characterizing and connecting the different types of information from co-referenced (in time or space) multimodal Research Data obtained using different Techniques. This may include the output of multiple Data Acquisitions and/or Data Analyses to obtain complementary insights on a region of interest, as well as to put into relation features of different Systems across multiple length scales over time. While Correlative Characterization by definition focuses on one location, it is frequently combined with statistical methods for Raw Data from multiple locations.
