Reflectivity
Definizione
- 1. A radiation reflective quality inhering in a bearer by virtue of the ratio of the energy of a wave reflected from its surface to the energy possessed by the wave striking the bearer's surface. (TIB, PATO - the Phenotype And Trait Ontology). 2. Reflectivity is measured by shining a beam of monochromatic light (with a wavelength of 546 nanometres) on a polished surface of the vitrinite macerals in a coal sample and measuring the percentage of the light reflected with a photometer (Britannica). 3. Reflectivity is an optical property of the material. When light is incident on the surface of a material (or boundary between two media), it then returns into the medium from which it originated.
