Magnetic property
Definizione
- 1. The magnetic property of a material is the atomic or subatomic response a material to an applied magnetic field wherein the electron spin and charge create a dipole moment and a magnetic field. (ScienceDirect, Nanomaterials for Medical Applications 2013, Pages 181-234). 2. Magnetic properties other than diamagnetism, which is present in all substances, arise from the interactions of unpaired electrons. These properties are traditionally found in transition metals, lanthanides, and their compounds due to the unpaired d and f electrons on the metal. (https://www.sigmaaldrich.com)
