تعریف
- 1. A physical quality that inheres in a bearer by virtue of the geometrical orientation of the oscillations of a transverse wave. (https://purl.allotrope.org/ontologies/quality#AFQ_0000142). 2. Property of certain electromagnetic radiations in which the direction and magnitude of the vibrating electric field are related in a specified way. (Brittanica). 3. Polarization (also polarisation) is a property of transverse waves which specifies the geometrical orientation of the oscillations. (Wikipedia). 4. The relevant material property that couples with the radiation field. May be called optical or dielectric polarization. Optical spectroscopies may be classified according to the dielectric polarization power-law dependence on the external electric field. (IUPAC)
