Phase boundary
Definition
- 1. Contact angle is the angle formed by a liquid at the three phase boundary where liquid, gas and solid intersect which gives the quantitative measure of wetting of a solid by liquid. (ScienceDirect, From: Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2017). 2. In thermal equilibrium, each phase (i.e. liquid, solid etc.) of physical matter comes to an end at a transitional point, or spatial interface, called a phase boundary, due to the immiscibility of the matter with the matter on the other side of the boundary.
