Definition
- 1. Processes by which a heterogeneous sample is prepared so that becomes a homogeneous sample (MatPortal, Chemical Analysis Metadata Platform (ChAMP) Ontology version 0.2). 2. The intensive mixing of mutually insoluble phases (sometimes with addition of surfactants) to obtain a soluble suspension or emulsion.
